Bollywood actress Kangana will appear in court in a defamation case

Bollywood film lyricist Javed Akhtar's defamation case against actress Kangana Ranaut. The Bombay High Court rejected her plea to stay the trial. The court also rejected her request to join the cross cases with these. Justice Prakash Naik made it clear that the proceedings could not be stayed or clubbed as Kangana had never called them cross cases. It was stated that Javed Akhtar filed the complaint first, so no relief can be given at this stage. He said that the petitioner (Kangana) had never stated in the past that both the cases were cross cases.

In an interview, Kangana alleged that Javed Akhtar called her and her sister Rangoli to his house and abused them and threatened them criminally after a fight over her affair with Hrithik Roshan. Javed went to court in 2020 claiming her comments defamed him. After that, Kangana filed a counter complaint against Javed's complaint. While the defamation case filed by Javed against Kangana continues before the Magistrate in Andheri, the Sessions Court stayed the complaint filed by Kangana against him. The Bombay High Court recently made these comments in this context.
